PRESIDENT / EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Kip West is a professional archer from Wakefield, Va. In January of 2005 a good friend of his, Marine Sgt. Jayton Daniel Patterson, was killed in Iraq. To honor Jayton, Kip started KWO. The sole purpose of this organization is to introduce wounded military men and women to the outdoors via bowhunting and fishing.
Born and raised in Dayton Ohio, Joe Caverlee fell in love with music and the outdoors at an early age. Pursuing a career in music he has called Tennessee home for the past 20 years. Joe has played fiddle for many artists including Ken Mellons, Yankee Grey and Tracy Lawrence where he has been the musical director for the past 10 years. Joe also loves to write music and having a lot of friends in the bow hunting industry has composed theme songs for some of your favorite hunting shows. He is currently on pro staff at BowTech, Spot-Hogg, Vanguard and Morrell targets but one of his proudest positions in the wildlife world is being on the finance committee of KWO. Joe met Kip at a “Salute to our Heroes” event in Wakefield, Virginia a few years back and was so blown away with what Kip was doing for these fine young men and women that he wanted to be a part of KWO and help out however he could. They have been the best of friends ever since. Joe is always right there to try to help make it a continued success serving the people who have served our beloved country, being in one of his favorite places to be....outdoors.
Born and raised in Wakefield, VA, David Peck is the General Manager and co-owner of Belmont Peanuts of Southampton. David joined Patsy and Bob Marks in 2004 and together they created a facility on the Marks' Farm which produces some the finest Gourmet Peanuts and peanut products available. David's relationship with our military began when his younger brother Derek enlisted in the Army and served in Kosovo, Bosnia and the invasion of Iraq. David's step son Rob just returned from Iraq in December of 2011 from a nine month tour. David joined forces with KWO in the spring of 2010 to help Kip organize the Salute to our Heroes event. After working with Kip the first year and getting to meet and spend time with some these remarkable young men and women who have served us so unselfishly, David committed to do whatever he could to insure that KWO continues to serve these heroes.
